(AAU)
The Association of African Universities is an international non-governmental
organisation set up by the universities in Africa to promote cooperation among
themselves and between them and the international Academic community.
Forum for African Women Educationalists
(FAWE)
FAWE aims to increase access and retention as well as improve the quality of
education for all girls within the school system, and women in
universities.
Foundation Partnership
for African Higher Education
The Partnership for Higher Education in Africa is an initiative of Carnegie
Corporation of New York, The Ford Foundation, the John D. and Catherine T.
MacArthur Foundation, and the Rockefeller Foundation. Launched in May 2000, the
Partnership represents both a belief in the importance and viability of higher
education in Africa and a mechanism to provide meaningful assistance to its
renaissance.
International African Institute
(IAI)
The IAI's principle aim is "to promote the education of the public in the study
of Africa and its languages and cultures". Its activities range from supporting
seminars and other means of disseminating knowledge within and about Africa, to
a range of publications, which include an international journal, monographs by
distinguished authorities on aspects of African society and peoples, edited
volumes, and encouraging pioneering projects concerned with stimulating
scholarship within Africa.
The National Summit on
Africa
The mission of The Africa Society, a direct outgrowth of the National Summit on
Africa, is to educate all Americans about Africa and its people, to build
bridges of understanding and partnership, and to facilitate the Continent's
social development and political transition to more open, democratic
societies.

Recherche en Education (ROCARE)
(Educational Research Network for West and Central
Africa)
A pour mission la promotion de l'expertise africaine afin d'influencer
positivement les pratiques et politiques éducatives. L'éducation est un des
moteurs de la transformation et de la compétitivité en Afrique où la recherche
en éducation doit aiguillonner l'évolution des systèmes éducatifs. Et cette
recherche doit être imprégnée des valeurs et contraintes locales.
