The project on sub-regional networks and capacity building in conflict affected areas, aimed at strengthening the capacity of local actors for research and advocacy, as well as developing sub-regional networks of institutions and individuals working on CAC. Funding for the pilot phase - a sub-regional workshop in the Great Lakes in Africa involving participants from Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda and the DRC - was provided by the government of the Netherlands. Funding is currently being sought to extend the project to the Balkans, West Africa, Latin America, and Asia, with a focus on regional workshops, research training and fellowship programs for local researchers.
