Stasia DeMarco has worked in journalism and many other aspects of media studies since she received her undergraduate degree in communication from the University of Hartford, Connecticut in 1993 and her M.A. in communication studies from the University of Portland, Oregon in 1997. Stasia got involved in radio journalism in 1998 when she started freelancing and volunteering at KBOO 90.7FM in Portland. She has done everything from taking calls for talk radio, to anchoring the news and to hosting her own talk show. From 2000-2004, she anchored and hosted Weekend Edition at WHYY, 91FM in Philadelphia while filling in for WHYY's Morning Edition and All Things Considered. Stasia has produced long-format one hour shows for WHYY and still finds time once a month to work in radio operations at WHYY. Stasia also regularly produces long format feature reports on a wide variety of topics from inner-city polo to media criticism for Voice of America, www.tompaine.com and other news organizations. Currently, Stasia has branched out into the commercial news radio world and is now also working part-time as a weekend morning radio editor & producer, fill-in TV writer and a web editor for one of the top Infinity Radio all news stations, KYW1060 Newsradio in Philadelphia. In addition, Stasia is an adjunct professor at La Salle University where she teaches Introduction to Mass Media and acts as a youth mentor.
