Ann Pepper has been a journalist for 27 years, starting out on a small northern California daily as the lifestyle and society reporter and later covering general news. After spending a year traveling in western Europe, she arrived at the Orange County Register to scrutinize city governments and report on the people they served. Currently she handles the Register's Middle Eastern communities beat as wells as her principal job as the paper's Values and Beliefs writer. She graduated in 1976 from California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in Journalism.
