Eman Varoqua is the courthouse reporter for The Record and also covers legal issues facing immigrants such as the Patriot Act and post 9/11 round-ups. Varoqua began at The Record in 2000 as a religion writer and later covered government and politics with a concentration on Arab and Muslim communities. She has written articles on post-war Iraqis looking to return home, deported FBI detainees, and the emerging power of Muslim voting blocs. Varoqua holds a bachelor's degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, School of Journalism.
